FAQ - COLDFIRE Wallets: Materials, Shipping, Warranty
Measured answers about COLDFIRE materials, wallets, shipping, warranty and manufacturing. Every figure below matches our published specifications.
Materials
What is K-Leather and why does COLDFIRE use it?
K-Leather is kangaroo leather. Its collagen fibers run parallel and are densely packed, which gives it roughly 10 times the tensile strength of cowhide at a fraction of the thickness and about 50% more strength than goatskin. COLDFIRE uses it as the exterior shell on every wallet series because it does not stretch under card pressure, so card slots keep their shape for years.
Is kangaroo leather more durable than cow leather?
Yes, at equal thickness. Kangaroo hide is approximately 10 times stronger in tensile strength than bovine leather, which is why it is used in professional cycling gloves and boxing equipment. In a wallet this means no stretching, no sagging slots and a thinner profile for the same strength.
What is flexible carbon fiber and how is it different from a rigid carbon fiber wallet?
COLDFIRE's GT Rebel series uses Carbitex CX6 Omniflex, a flexible carbon fiber composite that bends like a textile and returns to its exact shape. It is rated for more than 10,000 flex cycles with 0% deformation. Rigid carbon fiber wallets (plate-style) cannot fold, hold fewer cards and feel cold and hard in the pocket; flexible carbon fiber folds like a leather bifold while keeping carbon fiber's zero-stretch behaviour.
Do COLDFIRE wallets block RFID?
Yes. All COLDFIRE wallets with RFID Data Armor include a 0.08 mm shielding layer that blocks the 13.56 MHz band used by contactless payment cards and most access cards. The shield is laminated inside the card compartments, so it adds no visible thickness.
What hardware and thread do you use?
Metal components are Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5) titanium, an aerospace alloy about 45% lighter than steel at comparable tensile strength. Stitching is AMANN STRONGBOND bonded polyamide 6.6 thread, certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100. Full material specifications are published on our Materials page.
Where can I verify your material claims?
Every material COLDFIRE uses is named with its supplier or grade on the Materials page: Carbitex CX6 Omniflex carbon fiber, K-Leather, RFID Data Armor, Dyneema ripstop and Ti-6Al-4V titanium. We also publish the Wallet Material Transparency Audit, which compares how 24 wallet brands disclose their materials.
Products and capacity
Which COLDFIRE wallet is the slimmest?
The Flex Air: 42 g, 5 mm closed and about 6.5 mm with 2 cards loaded. It has 2 card slots, an ID window and an outside pocket, and no bill compartment. It is the right choice if you carry two cards and a phone and want the thinnest possible profile.
How many cards fit in each COLDFIRE wallet?
Flex Air holds 2 cards; Flex One holds 4 cards plus folded bills (46 g, 5.5 mm closed); Flex Ultra holds 5 cards plus bills with an ID window (58 g, 8 mm closed); Strike Core holds 6 cards plus bills (55 g, 6 mm closed); Strike Pro holds 8 cards plus bills and an ID window (65 g, 9 mm closed). Carrying within the stated capacity is what keeps the wallet slim and is a condition of the warranty.
What is the difference between the Flex and Strike series?
Both are GT Rebel carbon fiber wallets. Flex is the minimalist line (2 to 5 cards, 42 to 58 g) built for front-pocket carry. Strike is the full bifold line (3 to 8 cards, 55 to 74 g) with variants that add a coin pocket (Strike Lite), an ID window (Strike Pro) or both (Strike Elite). All share the same CX6 Omniflex shell, K-Leather and RFID Data Armor.
Will a COLDFIRE wallet stretch or lose its shape over time?
No, when carried within its stated capacity. Both CX6 Omniflex carbon fiber and K-Leather are chosen because they do not stretch under card pressure. Permanent stretching, swelling or loss of shape under normal use is covered by the warranty.
Do you make wallets in materials other than carbon fiber?
Yes. Snake Eye is a snake-leather series, Fusion is a camouflage goat-leather series, and Titan Grip is a line of full-grain leather belts with Grade 5 titanium hardware. All are made in the same Plovdiv workshop.
Ordering and shipping

Will I pay customs or import duties?

Where else do you ship?

Can I buy COLDFIRE on Amazon?
Yes. COLDFIRE wallets are available on Amazon US as well as on coldfirebrand.com. Specifications, materials and warranty terms are the same on both channels.
Warranty, returns and care
What warranty do COLDFIRE wallets have?
A 5-year guarantee from the date of purchase for the original owner, covering defects in materials and workmanship in the carbon fiber, leather, stitching, hardware and RFID shielding, and structural failures such as permanent stretching or loss of shape under normal use within the stated capacity. EU customers also have the 2-year statutory warranty. Cosmetic wear, overstuffing and misuse are not covered.
How do I make a warranty claim?
Email info@coldfirebrand.com with your order number, a short description and a photo of the issue. We assess the claim and arrange a repair or replacement.
What is your return policy?
You can return an unused item in its original condition and packaging within 30 calendar days of delivery. Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 14 days of inspection. Return shipping is paid by the customer unless the item arrived damaged, defective or incorrect, in which case we provide a prepaid label. Personalised items cannot be returned.
How do I care for a carbon fiber and K-Leather wallet?
Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not soak, machine-wash or use solvents. K-Leather needs no conditioning under normal use; a neutral leather balm once or twice a year is enough in dry climates. Keep the wallet within its card capacity, which is what preserves the slim profile.
About COLDFIRE
Where are COLDFIRE wallets made?
Every COLDFIRE wallet is cut and stitched in Plovdiv, Bulgaria (EU), by KOK-2000 Ltd., a leather goods workshop founded in 2000. Leather components are cut on an Atom FlashCut CNC system; assembly, edge finishing and stitching are done by hand. The address is 75A Dimitar Talev Str., 4004 Plovdiv.
Who is behind COLDFIRE?
COLDFIRE was founded in 2016 by Todor Georgiev, who has more than 25 years in luxury leather goods manufacturing and personally designed the GT Rebel series. The brand's principle is Performance. Not Vanity: published specifications instead of marketing adjectives.
What does "Performance. Not Vanity." mean?
It means every claim on a COLDFIRE product page is a measurable one: grams, millimetres, card capacity, flex cycles, shield thickness, material grade and supplier. If a property cannot be measured and verified, we do not print it.
